Protecting Britain's heritage for generations to come

Thanks to generous support, the National Trust has transformed Mount Stewart in Northern Ireland but 900 acres of surrounding land, including the Rose Garden and Vinery, recently came into the Trust’s care and requires urgent attention. Another on-going project is Stowe Gardens, once the most influential landscape gardens in Europe where help is needed to restore it to its 18th-century glory and rebuild its grand temples and statues.

These examples are just a small part of the important work that is carried out to preserve the National Trust’s special places across Britain. This is why, for every person who joins us on one of our inspiring breaks, we are proud to give the National Trust £25 which helps them to fund vital restoration projects that will protect and conserve our national heritage forever and for everyone.

Did you know; the National Trust’s biggest conservation project to date was the 14th-century moated manor house, Ightham Mote in Kent, which lasted 15 years!

National Trust Holidays to Scotland

Explore Scotland's stunning scenery of lochs and mountains, as well as iconic castles, and take advantage of your National Trust membership with our fully-escorted holidays. Travel by both coach and rail; spectacular railway journeys through the Highlands all included.
Scotland's magnificent mountains and lochs are an area of great natural beauty; the setting for many ancient castles preserved by the National Trust for Scotland. The Highlands, in particular, have spectacular rail trips as a further holiday highlight. With our fully-escorted tours, coach and rail travel are all arranged; just enjoy your holiday.

Our 'Castles and Railways' tour, starting at Inverness, has a full itinerary including free excursions – a visit to Balmoral, Crathes Castle and a cruise on Loch Ness. Our rail excursions include firstly the trip from Glenbogle station through the Cairngorms National Park to Aviemore. The second spectacular trip takes you from Inverness, through the Highlands to the Kyle of Lochlash on the rugged west coast, as featured in Michael Palin's Great Railway journeys of the World.

Our exclusive National Trust tours often include private tours, giving you expert insight into Scotland's history.

All are welcome but National Trust members do receive an additional discount. 'By Air' options allow you to join us directly at Edinburgh airport.

Enjoy a unique holiday with like-minded guests to explore the best of Scotland and its heritage.
Travel Options
We have added flexible travel options on the majority of our tours, allowing you to choose your preferred means of transport - whether it’s driving yourself to the hotel, joining the coach at a convenient pickup point or even flying direct to your destination.
Take your own car and join us direct at the hotel. A seat will still be reserved for you on the coach for all your excursions. Please note some hotels may charge for car parking – details are available on request.
Leave the car behind and let us do the driving for you. Add return coach travel from a convenient pickup point. Details of available pickup points are shown for each tour date (except on tours which do not have a coach travel option).
On all our breaks by air, flights are now included in the price of your holiday. Choose from a selection of UK airports and we will book flights for you to your destination.
Take advantage of our brand new, stress free departure option of "Club Class Home Collection Service". With this luxury service, a uniformed chauffeur will collect you from home and transfer you to the hotel, airport or cruise port in top specification cars or MPVs, then at the end of your holiday they will be waiting to whisk you home again.
