Christmas Eve – Sirmione

We travel to one of the prettiest Italian towns on the southern edge of Lake Garda. Sirmione is a popular destination and for good reason, the historic town sits in a beautiful location on a narrow, long peninsula, jutting out into the Lake. Soak up the charm and beauty on display and with every step through the quaint narrow streets you’ll find a wealth of history, culture and wonderful sights. Don’t miss the incredible Scaligero Castle, one of Italy’s best-preserved castles that sits atop Lake Garda.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day is a lovely day of leisure and celebration at our hotel.

Boxing Day – Optional excursion to Venice (£45pp)

Join us for an optional excursion to Venice, a city built on 118 small islands and considered one of the most extraordinary cities in Europe. Think of Venice and you can imagine a ‘floating city’ made up of a framework of canals and narrow streets, where gondolas pass by beautiful buildings and bridges. Make sure you visit the main public square, the Piazza San Marco, where you’ll find the magnificent cathedral church Basilica di San Marco (St Mark’s Basilica)

27th December – Verona

Today we head to the distinctive city of Verona famous for being the setting of the ultimate romantic tragedy, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. But Verona has far more to offer than a fictional balcony. The city has a rich history and artistic culture, and many renowned Renaissance artists made this fair city their home. Take a stroll down the Via Mazzini, the elegant Venetian marble-paved street that leads to the heart of the town, Piazza Erbe, Verona’s popular and attractive square.

28th December

Leaving Lake Garda we start our journey home and travel to our overnight hotel in France.
