Our first destination today is the famous seaside resort, Minehead. There is plenty to see, including the quaint fishing quarter, charming harbour and the bustling town centre with its shops, tea rooms and restaurants. You can also stroll to the beautiful Blenheim Gardens or the 14th-century hilltop church, taking in the famous Church steps along the way.
Optional Excursion
Wells & Cheddar including a scenic drive through Cheddar Gorge (£14pp)
Our optional excursion begins with two notable villages, one situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills and the other at the foot of the Polden Hills. The historic cathedral city of Wells is England’s smallest city and is renowned for its well-preserved historic centre, narrow streets and medieval architecture.
We finish our day with a scenic drive through the beautiful Somerset countryside to Cheddar Gorge. Cutting across the Mendip Hills, the famous limestone gorge is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Site of Special Scientific Interest, and a Special Area of Conservation. The road runs through the ravine and offers outstanding views of the country’s highest inland cliffs, soaring dramatically to 500ft.
