Itinerary

From a morning pickup in your local area we travel to our hotel, arriving in time to enjoy dinner.

Our optional excursion takes us to Exeter, a handsome and compact university city that offers a beautiful cathedral, fascinating historic attractions and a great range of shops. There’s also the lively cobbled quayside area, the perfect place to take a stroll along the canal, browse the quaint antique shops and art exhibitions or enjoy the bars and waterside restaurants.

During the festive season*, Exeter transforms into a winter wonderland with its famous Christmas Markets. Located on Cathedral Green, the markets feature an array of festive stalls offering unique gifts, crafts and delicious seasonal food and drink. Enjoy the festive atmosphere with twinkling lights, live music, and entertainment, making it a perfect destination for holiday shopping and enjoying the Christmas spirit.

*Please note: Exeter Christmas Market dates are subject to change

After breakfast, we head first to Dawlish, a quaint and friendly resort that was once a tiny fishing village until the Victorian Railway Age turned it into a thriving seaside town. It nestles between striking red sandstone cliffs overlooking a sandy beach, with the railway still running right alongside the seafront. We then make our way to Teignmouth, a handsome estuary town which has the benefits of a bustling harbour as well as the classic attractions of a seaside resort. It boasts an elegant Georgian crescent, promenade and Victorian pier with fine views across the bay.

After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
