Day 1
Ferry to Calais and overnight stay in France.
Day 2
Continue to our hotel in the resort of Roses.
Day 3 – Boat cruise to Cadaqués
We take a leisurely boat trip from Roses to Cadaqués, a pretty coastal town on the Costa Brava, once popular with artist Salvador Dalí. Here we enjoy a guided walking tour, exploring the labyrinth of the Old Town’s cobbled streets with their whitewashed buildings, before the coach takes us back to our hotel.
Day 4 – Canal du Midi Cruise
Today we cross the border into France for a delightful boat trip on the world-famous Canal du Midi, departing from Béziers. Classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is one of the most popular waterways in France which in total runs for 240km and links the Mediterranean and the Atlantic through a network of locks, aqueducts and tunnels. During our relaxing cruise, we enjoy an included lunch on board too.
Day 5 – Canals of Empuriabrava Boat Cruise & Besalú
We take to the tranquil turquoise waters of the largest residential marina in the world, known as the Venice of the Costa Brava, the seaside area of Castelló d'Empúries is made up of canals that weave their way between houses and piers. Enjoy the beautiful views of stunning luxury villas and palm trees in this unique boating experience. We then enjoy a guided walking tour in stunning Besalú, a beautiful example of a medieval town, full of character and historic charm with cobbled streets and impressive architecture.
Day 6 – Day at leisure
Day 7 – Medes Islands & Pals
Today we take a boat trip around the Medes Islands, seven inlets that today are some of the most important marine flora and fauna reserves in the western Mediterranean. Afterwards we head to Pals, one of the most charming villages on the Costa Brava. We have free time here to explore this medieval town at leisure.
Day 8
Travel to our overnight hotel in France, with a light evening meal included.
Day 9
Continue to Calais for our return ferry home.
