Day 2

We visit the glorious Blenheim Palace, designed on an awe-inspiring scale and set in beautiful parkland, landscaped by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. As the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, a permanent exhibition commemorates the life of this famous wartime Prime Minister, whilst the magnificent State Rooms reveal a superb collection of tapestries, paintings and furniture. The superbly designed Formal Gardens are full of colourful and fragrant plants and finely arranged foliage, whilst the surrounding natural gardens are perfect for a relaxed stroll.

Day 3

We head to the historic city of Oxford; the famous seat of learning, known for its magnificent buildings including the colleges of the famous Oxford University. With time to enjoy the city at leisure, take a walk around the centuries-old college, full of secluded cloisters, Gothic chapels, and tranquil quadrangles. The Ashmolean, the world’s first public museum, is also well worth a visit. With an abundance of cafes and eateries dotted around the city, there is plenty to choose from for a bite to eat. In the afternoon we rejoin the coach for our journey home.
