Introducing the brand-new JG Explorer!

Team member Beth reveals all about this exciting new chapter for the JG Travel Group.

Ralph Waldo Emerson was right; ‘it’s not the destination, it’s the journey.’ There’s something special about sitting back, tucking into your travel snacks and gliding past spectacular scenery, all from your coach seat! We may be biased, but we think a scenic coach trip is the best way to see a country; to meander through ever-changing landscapes and marvel at magnificent vistas at every turn. Now imagine all this from the comfort of our brand-new deluxe coach, the JG Explorer!
We are delighted to introduce our sparkling fleet of coaches, exclusive to the JG Travel Group and meticulously designed with you in mind. With only 44 seats and more room on board, the result is an elevated coach experience and a memorable journey, every time. There is a whole host of features, such as a floor-level toilet accessible to all customers and a rear-mounted kitchen, where you’ll find an espresso machine to purchase delicious Nespresso coffee, hot chocolate or tea, dispensed by your driver during comfort breaks. There are even complimentary JG water bottles for you to enjoy whilst on board, another first on our coaches. Make the most of the built-in cold filtered water tap, to fill up as much as you like while cutting down on the need for disposable plastic bottles, helping us to do our part for the environment.
On-board entertainment throughout your journey is easy to find on the JG Explorer, with access to Azimut, our wireless media system, providing a fantastic range of films, TV series, quizzes, games, music and more. Simply bring along your smartphone or iPad and enjoy this entertainment interruption-free, with the use of our reliable Wi-Fi, free to all passengers and a handy USB charging port at each seat. This coach really has it all!
While on 15th May we officially launched our JG Explorer at the National Trust’s Clumber Park, on 22nd May, our Director of Product & Operations, Paul, organised one of the Explorers to pop into Cheltenham Racecourse, so a few of us from the office could go and have a first look. Met with a friendly wave from the driver, even the rain couldn’t dampen our spirits as the impressive vehicle pulled up before us, resplendent in a dark royal blue! We excitedly stepped aboard, enjoyed that new coach smell (think new car smell but better!) and were immediately impressed by the spotless interiors. Our CEO Chris couldn’t resist sitting behind the wheel while we all set about exploring the kitchen area and testing the new seats. They are even comfier than I imagined – with plenty of padding, enhanced legroom, a footrest, armrest and the ability to recline, I instantly imagined the lovely nap I would have if I were travelling onboard! Although, you wouldn’t want to sleep all the way to your destination and miss the panoramic views – thanks to the big windows and elevated ride height, the vistas outside will be spectacular as the Explorer traverses the landscapes of the UK and Europe.
After 16 months in the making, it was definitely a proud moment for the team. We can’t wait for you to experience it for yourselves, and with the first JG Explorer tour departing on 26th May, it’s finally time to hit the road!
