We’ll stay at one of two hotels in Torquay:

The Burlington Hotel is situated about a ten-minute walk from Torquay’s harbour, beach and town centre. The simply-furnished rooms offer a TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. The hotel also features a bar, restaurant, TV lounge, games room, garden and sun terrace. (JG2 rating)

The charming Ashley Court Hotel is conveniently located close to Torquay’s seafront and town centre. The hotel features a bar, restaurant, games room and a heated outdoor swimming pool. All the en-suite rooms offer a flat-screen TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. (JG2 rating)

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG2 rating are a mixture of larger hotels and privately owned properties. Décor and furnishings may be simple but are clean and well maintained. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TV and may have tea/coffee making facilities. Food may be buffet style in some of the larger hotels. Services may be limited but efficient.

Festive Winter Break at Exeter Christmas Market

Day 1

From a morning pickup in your local area we travel to our hotel in time to enjoy dinner.

 

Day 2

We head to Exeter, Devon’s regional capital, and its Christmas Market held on the green outside the beautiful Exeter Cathedral. With a mix of local independent retailers and international traders, the stalls of the festive market offer unique, handmade and unusual gifts and crafts, decorations and delicious produce. Exeter’s Christmas Market has been recognised as one of the best speciality markets by the National Association of British Market Authorities. Tonight we have dinner together at the hotel.

 

Day 3

After checking out of the hotel, we spend the morning at leisure in Torquay. With its bustling harbour, picturesque views and wide range of continental style cafés, this charming seaside town has plenty to offer. We then depart for our return journey home.
