Krakow, Auschwitz & the Tatra Mountains

With stunning vistas of snow-capped peaks and panoramic scenery, the majestic Tatra Mountains are the highest range in the Carpathians and boast some of the most beautiful landscapes in all of Europe. From our base in the lovely town of Zakopane, situated at the foothills of the mountains, we take a poignant guided tour of Auschwitz. We also explore the fascinating city of Krakow, renowned for its atmospheric squares, historic landmarks and cobbled streets lined with pastel-coloured buildings.

4-star Belvedere Hotel

The 4-star Belvedere Hotel is situated in Zakopane, a delightful year-round resort which lies at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. All comfortable, en-suite rooms are equipped with TV and a mini bar. The hotel also boasts a restaurant, indoor pool, sauna and steam room.

Day 1
Ferry to Calais and overnight stay in Germany on a bed and breakfast basis. 

Day 2
Travel onwards to our overnight hotel in eastern Germany, with dinner included.

Day 3
Continue to our hotel in Zakopane, Poland, where we stay for five nights.

Day 4 – Zakopane & the Tatra Mountains
We explore our picturesque base of Zakopane this morning with an introductory tour by coach and on foot. Renowned as Poland’s premier mountain resort and surrounded by the Tatra Mountains, we make a stop to take in some of the amazing views. Heading into town, Zakopane’s main street, Krupówki, is lined with shops and restaurants, and the local market is perfect for souvenirs.

Day 5 – Krakow
Today we explore the wonderful city of Krakow with a guided tour, on foot and by coach. The city is packed with interesting sights, many of which are situated within the historic Old Town – now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We also discover the city’s most recognisable landmark; the eye-catching Cloth Hall in the main Market Square.

Day 6 – Day at leisure in Zakopane

Day 7 – Auschwitz
During the Second World War, the network of Nazi-run labour camps known as Auschwitz tragically took the lives of around a million Jews, Poles, Roma and political prisoners. We visit the main camp for a sobering guided tour, taking in the residential barracks, ruined gas chambers and crematoria.

Day 8 – Prague
We begin our journey home, stopping overnight in Prague. We arrive in time to choose a restaurant for dinner at leisure in the city centre before we check in to our hotel.

Day 9
We travel onwards to our overnight hotel in Germany, with a light evening meal included. 

Day 10
Continue to Calais for our return ferry home.
