Day 1
From a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach to our hotel, arriving in time for dinner.
Day 2
We start the day with a visit to Barnsdale Gardens, created by the late BBC Gardeners’ World presenter, Geoff Hamilton in the 1980s. Referred to as ‘a theme park for gardeners’, the 38 individual garden ‘rooms’ offer an inspiring range of horticultural styles and planting schemes, all built on organic principles. These include a Japanese Garden, Wildlife Garden, Ornamental Kitchen Garden, Artisan’s Cottage Garden and much more! There’s also a gift shop and tea room to enjoy.
From here we travel the short distance to Rutland Water, one of the most important wildfowl sanctuaries in the UK. This large, horseshoe-shaped reservoir is set within 3,000 acres of beautiful countryside and we have the chance to enjoy the scenery and look out for the unique wildlife on a relaxing cruise aboard the Rutland Belle. Later we return to the hotel for dinner and our second night’s stay.
Day 3
After checking out of the hotel, we head into the centre of Market Bosworth for some free time to explore at leisure. This quaint rural market town sits astride an open wooded hilltop and offers a range of independent shops set amongst historic buildings which surround the pretty, cobbled market square. There are also plenty of tea rooms, cafés, pubs and restaurants which cater for every taste. We rejoin the coach in the afternoon for the journey home.
