Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.

Included Excursions
Portsmouth (half day)
We spend half a day in the bustling city of Portsmouth, Britain’s only island city thanks to its geographical location on Portsea Island. There is plenty to explore; its historic dockyard is home to Lord Nelson’s impressive HMS Victory while Gunwharf Quays is a rejuvenated area of retail outlets, bars and restaurants. Here you can climb the Spinnaker Tower for panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Winchester (half day)
We head to the cathedral city of Winchester, situated on the edge of the glorious South Downs National Park. The city’s market is in full swing, offering a wide variety of goods from quality local produce to fashion and bric-a-brac. The cathedral is also worth a visit with its beautiful illuminated Winchester Bible, 12th-century wall paintings and fascinating medieval carvings.

Optional Excursion
Bognor Regis & Chichester – £12pp (full day)
On our optional excursion we first visit the small seaside town of Bognor Regis, the perfect place to walk along the promenade and soak up the traditional delights of a British seaside resort. We continue to the cathedral city of Chichester. This charming, compact city boasts some of the country’s oldest buildings and streets, including the cathedral church of the Holy Trinity, while the pedestrianised city centre is enclosed within the ancient city walls.
