Friday: From a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach, making an extended stop for lunch. Then afterwards, we continue to the hotel for our first night’s stay.
Saturday: Today we travel to Thirsk, where we step into the world of James Herriot, the popular author and one of England’s most famous vets. The fascinating museum is the perfect chance to see where he lived, worked and penned his beloved series of books documenting his North Yorkshire experiences. There is so much to see, including plenty of memorabilia, a Second World War air-raid shelter, Herriot’s car and the original dispensary filled with potions and remedies. Later we return to the hotel.
Sunday: After breakfast we check out of our hotel and head to the well-known and popular town of Grassington. Fans of the 2021 television series of All Creatures Great and Small will recognise the beautiful landscape from the fictional market town of Darrowby – which was filmed in Grassington. We rejoin the coach in the afternoon for our journey home.
